Personal grounding kit

Personal grounding kit
An inexpensive and convenient way to get the benefits of an Earth connection while indoors.  Can also be worn while sleeping (generally on the foot or ankle for sleep use).

Protect yourself from harmful electromagnetic fields (EMF) in your environment, such as from mobile and cordless phones, computers, WiFi, and other electrical appliances.

This kit contains an elasticated fabric grounding band, a 6m (20ft) coiled cord, and the connection option of your choice.  It comes in an organic natural cotton bag for convenient travelling.

The fabric band is lightweight, comfortable and hypoallergenic, with no metal parts in contact with the skin, other than the conductive silver fibres on the inside.  Its circumference is adjustable from 120mm up to 220mm unstretched, and will stretch up to 360mm.  It should be worn on bare skin, such as on the wrist, arm, ankle or foot.

The conductive fibres on the inside of the band connect to a snap stud on the outside to which the lightweight coiled cord connects.  The cord is approximately 1.8m (6ft) long when unextended and stretches up to 6m (20ft).  The cord is then connected to ground via the connection option of your choice.

Please note that the blue grounding bands are sourced from the UK, and are not Earthing-brand products.  We do also have the Earthing-brand grounding bands (which are orange in colour).  If you'd like this instead, please just add a note to your order.

Connection for North America

The supplied cord fits directly into the 'Ground' pin of a North American type socket, used in Canada, the United States and Mexico.  It can also be used in Central America, the Caribbean, northern South America (Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela and parts of Brazil), Japan, Taiwan and Saudi Arabia.

Since it is not uncommon for sockets of this type to be missing an Earth connection, this connection option includes a socket tester to verify correct socket wiring.

Note that not all outlet sockets of this type have a 3rd pin for Ground.  Sockets with only 2 pins cannot be used for grounding, and so a grounding rod must be used instead.

Grounding rod kit

If you don't have a properly earthed mains outlet (for example some European houses or a pre-1960s house in the United States), then you can instead use a grounding rod kit to make a connection directly with the ground outside.

A grounding rod is required for use in Denmark where the mains outlets are not compatible with the European connection plugs.

The kit consists of a 0.3m (1ft) stainless steel rod with a 12m (40ft) cord.  The rod is pushed into the ground outside, which makes a good electrical connection to the Earth.  The cord is only 2mm in diameter so it can usually be run through the edge of a window frame with the window closed.
